Attorney Dan M. Smolnik holds a Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He sits on the Executive Committee of the Tax Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, serves as Chairman of the Federal Business Tax Subcommittee and has chaired or vice-chaired numerous boards of directors and provided business and legal leadership to several tax-exempt organizations.
Attorney Smolnik frequently publishes articles on tax law and lectures frequently before professional and academic organizations on tax law, business law, and business strategy. His practice focuses on tax disputes and strategies, the Affordable Care Act implementation and compliance strategies, and general business and corporate law matters. Attorney Smolnik has handled tax transactions and controversies at the federal, state, and local levels and advises numerous publicly traded and privately held enterprises in matters of ongoing tax compliance in business transactions, governance, and financial strategy.
